WOODSTOCK - Finding the right person for the right job is an ongoing
challenge for local human resources firms....
People Management Group Inc. (PMG) is also involved in the human resources
business, although it devotes its efforts to the executive level of
employment, said Cheryl DeCooman, president.
"There are about 75 clients who we do ongoing human resources work for,"
said DeComman. Many of the firm's clients come form Oxford County but
the enterprise's reach extends from Windsor to the Hamilton region.
"I've
spent a lot of time talking to business leaders and human resources
professional throughout Oxford County. More and more often, business
people are acknowledging that their employees truly are the most important
asset of their company and they're investing more in effective programs to
recruit, retain and recognize the people who work for them." she said.
As an
example of what the firm does, PMG has helped executive from defunct
businesses find work. As part of that, PMG does "psychometric behavior
profiling" on executives-it essentially gives the business information on
what positions an individual is suited for.
"It's
to ensure they (the client) find what they need," said DeCooman.
However, PMG does not limit itself to that type pf work alone. It aims
to fill a variety of human resources needs, said DeCooman. In addition
to recruitment, its services include organizational analysis, health and
safety programs, pay equity solutions and training.
The
size of company PMG works with varies.
"Our
experience has shown that any company with employee, regardless of size, can
benefit from refining their human resources management practices to gain
strategic advantage over competitors," said DeCooman.
